Back pans

Backpans, are metal sheets, bent and welded at the four corners, made of aluminum or galvanized steel. They are fixed and sealed to the curtain wall framing around the perimeter, behind the opaque areas. Their main use is to be an acoustic and thermal insulation.

We manufacture various styles, shapes and sizes of backpans to meet the specific needs of our customers.

The major factors that determine the design are: ​

– The backpans are made of aluminum or galvanized steel of different thicknesses;

– Backpans are generally insulated with a semi rigid mineral wool

– Oversized backpans are designed in units with integrated stiffeners welded together.

– Backpans are generally insulated with a semi rigid mineral wool

– Backpans can be made in depths ranging from 3/4″ to 8″

The Backpans can be insulated with different densities of Roxul rockwool according to the needs of the clients.

 

Available densities are:

– Curtain Rock 40 – 4 PCF

– Curtain Rock 60 – 6 PCF

– Curtain Rock 80 – 8 PCF

 

Where can the backpans be used?

  • On curtain wall systems
  • Behind solid panels, on the inside of a curtain wall system or in the aisle area.

• On concrete, masonry, steel or wood framing
